Meteodyn GCS
The Global Climate data Service (GCS)
For wind farm projects located anywhere onshore and up to 100 km offshore
Meteodyn GCS extracts and analyzes meso-scale climate data anywhere on land and up to 100 km offshore. It is possible to extract the mesoscale data in a few minutes using an integrated selected grid. 40 years of historical data is available.
Based on NASA's MERRA2 model, this data is transformed by the software into a time series which can be easily analyzed. It includes all wind characteristics as well as air temperature, humidity, and atmospheric pressure of the selected location.
Meteodyn GCS can be used together with Meteodyn WDA. It is possible to perform the MCP (measure correlate predict) method to obtain accurate and reliable long-term micro-scale data.
The software data can be shared with all other software on Meteodyn Universe for the different workstations, making it ideal for teamwork!

Features
The extraction of mesoscale climate data
Meteodyn GCS extracts mesoscale climate data of a location in just a few minutes, saving a considerable amount of time. It is possible to extract up to 40 years of historical data to obtain a comprehensive time series for an accurate assessment. This long-term data is also useful to achieve a MCP with Meteodyn WDA and obtain the long-term measurement data.
The selection grid
An integrated selection grid simplifies the selection of geographical points anywhere on land and up to 100 km offshore. Based on NASA's MERRA2 model, the software displays a preview of statistics at the point selected before the extraction. The mesoscale climate data is then extracted at a specific location without having to extract the entire global data. Consequently, offering considerable storage and time savings.
The analysis of extracted mesoscale data
- A comprehensive dashboard to quickly visualize the first indicators.
- The visualization over several heights of wind speed measurements, wind direction, air temperature, atmospheric pressure, and specific humidity in the form of time series*, time profile** or distribution charts.
* Hourly, daily, monthly, quarterly, or annually.
** Hourly, daily, monthly, or quarterly. - The wind speed analysis in the form of a Weibull distribution, a wind rose, and a power density rose.
- The wind shear analysis, containing the speed-by-height curve, the directional analysis and the temporal analysis.
- The cross-data analysis tool.
- The statistical table.
Strengths
AN INTUITIVE INTERFACE
A quick visualization for the state of extracted mesoscale points on a world map according to wind speed, wind direction, air temperature or atmospheric pressure.
A simplified navigation between the world map and each open mesoscale point as well as between each data analysis tool.
THE FILTERING SYSTEM OF THE GLOBAL DASHBOARD
It is possible to display only the extracted mesoscale points meeting certain criteria for the zone, speed, direction, temperature and/or pressure.
The filtering system of every analysis tool
Easy data filtering depending on the month, the direction, the data sources at different heights (2 m, 10 m, 50 m) and/or the time of day (day/night).

THE SIMPLIFIED ELEMENTS MANAGEMENT
Modification, customization, exportation, or removal of extracted mesoscale points simplified, as a result of a multiple filtering system.
A SIMPLE INTERCONNECTION WITH THE SOFTWARE OF THE METEODYN UNIVERSE SUITE
Meteodyn GCS is part of the Meteodyn Universe software suite, dedicated to wind energy. Meteodyn GCS software can be used together with Meteodyn WDA.
