METEODYN at Brazil Windpower 2026: Addressing Wind Development in a Challenging Market

From October 27 to 29, 2026, METEODYN will attend the 17th edition of Brazil Windpower at São Paulo Expo, Brazil. This year’s event will address several challenges facing Brazil’s wind energy sector, including offshore wind development, generation curtailment and operational performance.
For new developments, accurate wind resource assessment is essential, particularly across Brazil’s diverse terrain and coastal environments. METEODYN WT and Wind Data Portal provide CFD modelling capabilities and high-resolution wind data to improve site assessment and energy yield estimates. For offshore projects, SARWind® complements these approaches with satellite-based wind observations.
METEODYN’s expertise has already been applied in Brazil through a study conducted with Casa dos Ventos. Across 15 Brazilian sites, ranging from flat to highly complex terrain, the study demonstrated how CFD-based LiDAR data correction using METEODYN WT can improve wind measurement accuracy.
For operating wind farms, generation curtailment and production losses are also major concerns. METEODYN WPA helps operators analyse SCADA data, identify underperformance and quantify production losses, while METEODYN Forecast provides wind power production forecasts to support operational planning.
