  • Large wind farm wake effect

Investigation and validation of wake model combinations for large wind farm modelling in neutral boundary layers

An original approach consisting on the combination of two wake patterns – a single wake model with a neutral boundary layer modification - is investigated in order to model large wind farm wake effect. Sensitivity studies of boundary layer parameters are carried out to optimise the velocity and power corrections whatever the type of wind farms and the wind direc...

Atmospheric stability: general classification and simulation in Meteodyn WT

With regard to increasing turbine hub heights thermal stability is becoming more and more popular in wind power assessment. For this, knowledge about atmospheric stability is necessary and a need for proper modeling of the wind conditions in the upper boundary layer arises. This paper proposes some solutions by introducing reanalysis data and a new approach for the modeling of stability effects in CFD codes.
